Allow apps from unknown sources
On the Firestick go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer options, and switch on Install unknown apps for the Downloader app. On newer sticks the same switch is called Apps from Unknown Sources.

Install the Downloader app
Search for Downloader in the Fire TV search and install it. It is the small tool that fetches the player app for you — the Amazon store does not carry every IPTV player.

Add your player
Open Downloader and enter the link we send you for TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player. Install it, then open it from your apps row.

Enter your login
Choose Add playlist or Xtream Codes, then type the server URL, username and password we sent on WhatsApp. The channel list and TV guide load in under a minute.

The stick is slow or freezes
Older Fire TV Sticks fill up quickly. Clear the app cache, remove apps you never open, and restart from Settings rather than pulling the plug.
Sound but no picture, or the wrong aspect
Switch the player's decoder setting from hardware to software (or the other way round). It takes ten seconds and fixes most odd channels.

Do I need a new Firestick for IPTV?
No. Any Fire TV Stick sold in Ireland in the last few years works for IPTV, including the basic model. A 4K stick gives a sharper picture if your TV and broadband can carry it.
Is installing the player app allowed?
Yes — installing an app from outside the Amazon store is a normal Fire TV feature, which is why the Developer options switch exists.
Will it slow the stick down?
One player app makes little difference. What slows a Firestick is a full cache and a pile of unused apps, so clear those out first.
Can I take it with me?
Yes. The stick works anywhere with broadband and an HDMI socket — a holiday home, a rental, or a relative's house.
